Prep + Packing for Events

Note: If you are attending an event, you may not be able to bring some of these items through security, so be sure to check what is and what is not allowed to enter as an attendee.

Before the Event

  • Check all the event information to ensure you know exactly where the event takes place and when registration begins and ends. Map out the distance and time from where you are staying to the event location. Will you need to park? Make sure you know where that’s possible and how much it will cost. If you are working the event, plan to arrive 15–20 minutes early to account for traffic, registration lines, and any other unpredictable delays.

  • Download your ticket/badge confirmation to your device. If you aren’t able to access the internet for any reason and you’re required to show proof of purchase, have a backup plan to show or provide any necessary documentation.

  • Pack comfortable shoes to walk from one location to another. Wearing those cute heels to and from the show can kill your feet far quicker than you realize. Even if you’re staying onsite, the events center can be further from your room than you think.

  • Consider packing your event outfits separate from one another and the rest of your clothes. If you pack the pieces of each outfit (along with accessories) in their own small bag, this will help you get ready more efficiently in your hotel room or once you arrive at the event. Remember to always ensure your outfits follow the event’s guidelines.

  • Pack layers and extra outfits. In case of an outfit malfunction or an unexpected issue, you want a backup. Some events can also be long, so you may want to change out of one outfit, and into a fresh, clean outfit for extracurricular events. It’s safer to overpack than to not have enough.

  • Pack your hotel toiletry bag and event makeup bag separately. An easy way to pack is to think of your routine from your hair down. What is my routine at home? Start at shampoo, then move to your hair products, brushing, styling, plus anything you do for hair care, followed by your makeup application routine, and daily use products, such as lotions and such. Make a list of what you want to have on hand at the event for touch ups and to stay fresh. Then pack that bag separately from the items you’ll keep at the hotel.

  • Make business cards. Whether you choose to create a print or digital card, a sticker, or some other novelty item, bring something that you can give to fans and others so that they can connect with you after the event. Make sure you add your SextPanther profile link and your model referral link!

  • For models traveling internationally: Limit toys, lingerie, and other potential giveaways (such as advertising widely on social media) that you may be engaging in sex work. This varies from country to country, but for some countries, this can potentially flag you, especially if you tell customs that you are on a vacation, and lead to further questioning and possible deportation.

At the Event

  • Bring the essentials. You may not need everything, but these are extremely helpful to have on hand! You may be traveling to a different city with a climate and altitude you’re not used to. Eating out all the time may be difficult on your system. These items are great for small accidents we may run into. Others are just helpful to have and can always help someone else in need.

    • Water

    • Snacks

    • Mints

    • Pain reliever/fever reducer

    • Pepto-Bismol

    • Throat lozenges

    • Bobby pins

    • Safety pins

    • Bandaids

    • First aid kit

    • Shout wipes/Tide pens

    • Hand sanitizer

    • Q-Tips

    • Lotion

    • Hand warmers

    • Feminine hygiene necessities

    • Pens/Sharpies

    • Business cards/novelty items

    • Portable phone charger

  • Bring layers. You might have something skimpy planned for the show floor, but you should also consider bringing layers to stay warm traveling from location to location. You won’t know whether the events center feels too warm or too cold to you until you arrive.

  • Remember your makeup bag for touch ups on the show floor.

Other Considerations

  • Try to be with someone you can trust at all times. For extra protection in a city you are unfamiliar with, consider bringing drink test strips (and test strips for other substances) if you plan to go out or party around anyone you may not know. Try not to go too hard—you’ll regret it the next day!

  • Check security and event guidelines, but bring some kind of bag to carry whatever you need for the show floor plus some extra room for merch and swag you’ll likely pick up from different exhibitors. Keep something small and close to you to carry the most important items—phone, wallet, room key. Do not ask booth helpers to watch your personal belongings; it’s always best to keep track of your own stuff (consider using an AirTag), regardless of how well you know someone.

  • SextPanther loves when models come to the booth! That said, those signing and working the booth are there to work, so please be mindful of this fact. Hanging around the booth for a while can turn into a distraction. Those working the booth need to have the physical space and the attentiveness to talk with prospective models and existing models to distribute merch, answer questions, listen to feedback, and jazz everyone up about the platform.

  • Some creators use events for collaboration with other creators. If you choose to collaborate, ensure your and others’ STD/STI tests are current, you trust who you’re collaborating with, and you and your collaborators determine beforehand who can keep the content and how you’ll sell it. Keep in mind that SextPanther is not involved in any way in creator collaborations.
