Troubleshooting Slow Devices & Glitches
If you’re experiencing lagging or glitching while using the browser or app, there are a few basic troubleshooting steps you can take before reporting an issue to the support team.
Restart your device.
Better yet, restart your device on a daily basis if you’re a heavy user. Restarting can clear memory, help apps move faster with fewer glitches, reset internet connectivity, refresh security settings, install updates, and more.
Close apps and tabs that use a lot of memory.
While this advice is not as critical as most devices these days can handle multiple apps running simultaneously, heavy-memory apps may still slow down performance. Google Chrome, Spotify, Skype, and high-performance gaming apps are just a few culprits that hog memory. If you’re not using it, close it.
Clear your cache.
Your device’s cache is made up of little, temporary files stored to help your device move faster. Typically these files come from websites to decrease loading times. But once your cache starts to fill up, those speed savings may start to dwindle. How to clear your cache depends on your device and browser. Here’s how to do it for Safari on an iPhone. For other devices and browsers, simply search “how to clear cache on [device type and/or browser name].”
Clear your RAM.
Like restarting and clearing your cache, clearing your RAM is like wiping your memory slate clean so your device can start fresh. If you’re using your device with a lot of apps or several heavy-memory apps, your device’s short-term memory might get so full that everything slows down or even freezes. Here’s how to clear your iPhone’s RAM. For other devices, simply search “how to clear RAM on [device type].”
On the TextPanther app, renew your certificate.
Do this by logging out of the app and logging back in. That’s it!
