Troubleshooting Video & Phone Calls
Check Device Permissions
Ensure your device permissions are set up to enable push notifications, camera permissions, and microphone permissions. If you’re using TextPanther for calls, ensure that the app settings on your phone allow access to your microphone and camera. If you’re using the browser, ensure your microphone and camera settings are properly enabled for use with SextPanther.com.
Log Out, Refresh, Force Quit, Restart
When in doubt, always try logging out and back in. On the app, this resets the app’s notification token. Refresh the page if you’re on the browser; try logging out of the browser and back in. Then resort to quitting or force quitting the browser or app, restarting the device, and reopening everything. Also see Troubleshooting Slow Devices & Glitches.
Disable Your VPN
If you’re experiencing trouble on calls, try disabling your VPN as a temporary fix. We know digital security is important; consider trying another VPN when you have the chance.
Use a Supported Browser
If you’re using a web browser, ensure you’re using one that’s supported. Phone and video calls on SP were developed to work with the most popular web browsers available today. Some uncommon browsers may experience some difficulty when attempting to engage in the calling features. Google Chrome, Safari, and Firefox are approved web browsers for optimal use of phone and video call features on SP.
Update Browser and App to Latest Versions
If you’re using a web browser, ensure it’s updated to the latest version. If you’re not sure whether you’re using the latest version, search the web for how to check your browser’s version number and what the latest version number is.
If you’re using the TextPanther app, ensure it’s updated to the latest version. If you’re on iOS, open your TestFlight app to be sure you are using the latest version. If you’re on Android, it will automatically prompt you to update the app upon launching.
Clear Your Browser Cache and Cookies
How to clear your cache depends on your device and browser. Here’s how to do it for Safari on an iPhone. For other devices and browsers, simply search “how to clear cache on [device type and/or browser name].”
Update Device to Latest Version
Ensure your device is updated to the latest operating system.
